Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who starting the modern scientific study of children's witness memory as well as child victim witnesses within legal situations. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with a wide range of publications and many grants to her name, is also the recipient of numerous international and national distinctions. She has advised many administrations and agencies across the world about policies and studies pertaining to the treatment of children victims in the justice system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of several professional organizations, such as the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
